Toy Review – DX Battle Station Optimus Prime

It’s been nice to see Takara revert to form in the last few years regarding minor changes and upgraded paint jobs.  And this is most certainly evident in the latest Optimus Prime toy from Earthspark when compared to its Hasbro counterpart.  So without further ado lets take a look at DX Battle Station Optimus Prime.

Robot Mode

Optimus is redeco of the Warrior-class version of the toy from last year, sporting a bright colour scheme and that signature Earthspark large mouthplate.  The articulation is good and the flip-out battle axe is a nice touch.  Just a shame he’s got the nose of the truck hanging off him like an oversized bum-bag.

Truck Mode

Nice looking, and the bright colour scheme will really appeal to younger fans.  The arms are the letdown here.  Not only does it leave a gap between the shoulders on the back of the truck cab, but they are a total pain in the arse during transformation as they need to clip into the cab, the nose and the tail of the truck, and often when doing one tab you cause another to come loose or accidentally jostle the opposing arm free.  This makes what is otherwise a simplistic transformation quite fiddly and irritating.

Base Mode

The paintjob on this really sets it apart from its Hasbro counterpart as well as the Cyberverse versions this was lifted from.  It’s a pretty cool looking base with lots of 5mm ports you can attach extra guns to and will accomodate a deluxe sized vehicle.  It’s a shame that the big spring-loaded cannons come out the back of the base but this is necessary for the Battle Trailer Mode.

Trailer/Battle Trailer

It’s a good looking and well proportioned trailer.  The ramp at the back folds down to allow deluxe-sized vehicles to enter the trailer cavity.

A spring-loaded mechanism allows to big guns to flip out at the front of the trailer, and the roof folds over to not only allow for a turret gun but also another transformer to stand in the trailer to operate it, giving it a lot of play value!

Overall

This figure is realitively cheap for its size and its abundance in Japan makes it easy to find and import.  The only let downs are the transformation from robot to truck and overall it feels like the plastic is realitvely weak and cheaply made.  However this is a really fun figure and is highly recommended!

Toy Review – Legacy United Magneous

With 2024 and the 40th anniversary of the Transformers franchise fast approaching, we find ourselves moving out of the Legacy: Evolution toyline and into Legacy: United.

Legacy has been generally well received by TF toy collectors for not only bringing us characters from mutliple Transformers universes/timelines, but new characters as well.  And Legacy United is no different, not only giving us a new character but one from a (sorta) brand new universe!  So lets take a look at Legacy United Infernac Universe Armorizer Magneous

…. wait wait wait wait, that name is way too much to be left unpacked before we continue.  So for the unitiated:

*Legacy: Evolution is the 3rd istallment of the Legacy toyline, itself part of the Generations toyline, of the Transformers franchise.

*Infernac Universe is the reality this particular character is from.  It’s a new reality, with it’s name rooted in the cartoon Inhumanoids, but the universe being a pastiche of Inhumanoids, Rock Lords and even the JP G1 continuity (confused yet?).  Hence they look like robots made out of stone.

*Armorizers are Transformers that can break their bodies to bits to become armour for other Transformers.

*And Magneous is this particular toys name.

Phew!  Anyway, on with the review!

Robot Mode

Very nicely proportioned and with a decent amount of poseability.  The rocky details on the head and chest are particularly well done and I like how the wheels go behind the rocky pectorals.  He has good articulation everywhere but the head.  The weapons are very appropriate – being a pick axe and shield – as somehow laser blasters would seem out of place on this prehistoric bot.

Vehicle Mode

Reminicent of some of the other Armorizers we’ve had over the past year, with the grilled windows and armoured wheel covers.  The stone motif is once again in full effect – you get the impression this is what would happen if The Flintstones ever met Mad Max.

Part of the back of the vehicle can be removed, giving Magneous a pick-up truck mode.  What I found a shame is that his pick-axe could not be attached to become a tow hook.  A missed opportunity one feels.

Amorizer Mode

Unlike most Armorizers, this figure is not fully dissectable.  There are plenty of removeable parts, but the main body stays intact.  Whilst this may make Magneous inferior to other Amorizer figures, I found that it allowed for a much less fiddly transformation as he wasn’t a complete partsformer.  Personally I use the main vehicle body as a kind of battle sled.

Autobot or Decepticon?

He kinda looks like he would fit in with the Decepticons, but his weapons come in an Autobot wrapper.  Whether this means he is an Autobot, or is coinicidental or something unbiqutous to the entire United line, one can only specualte – it may be that the Cybertron factions don’t even exist in the Infernac universe.

Worth getting?

I’d say yes.  This is an interesting concept that we haven’t seen before in the main Transformers line, as well as being a new character which seems to occur less and less often.  Magneous looks great in both modes, has an intuitive transformation and has extra play value by coming apart and being attached to other toys.  Overall highly recommended.

Toy Review – Studio Series Airazor

The new Transformers: Rise of the Beasts movie is less than two months away, and figures are already turning up on shelves in anticipation of the latest instalment of the franchise.

Movie Review – Bumblebee

When I attended the Beasts Base Camp experience at Taronga Zoo I was lucky enough to be given a gift bag by Hasbro that contained, amongst other things, a Studio Series Airazor.  Then when attending the MTMTE Exhibition at Kings Comics my son was lucky enough to receive the same!  So being the first foray for both of us into the new movies toyline, thought it only fitting that we give you our thoughts on the figure.

Robot Mode

Given that Airazor has not, as of the writing of this post, had her robot mode shown in any footage, it is hard to give a proper account of how screen accurate the figure is.  It is certainly a nice looking figure, with an avian-like head, consistent colour-scheme, good proportions and decent articulation.  The wings give a cape-like appearance and the missiles on the arms lend that combative look of an alien robot about to enter the fray.  The face is not particularly feminine, but then very few Airazor figures in the past have had one either so one could say its true to form.  The feet should be turned so that the smaller talons face the front, but I personally think she looks that bit cooler and more bestial with the larger facing forward.

Falcon Mode

The figure really shines here.  A beautiful wingspan that can be adapted to a number of different configurations and poses.  A sufficiently detailed head and claws really give that metallic-bird appearance, with this Airazor not having an organic outer form like previous iterations of the character.  Looking from below she doesn’t look great, but then to be honest most real life birds don’t from that angle either (I raise ducks and chickens – trust me on this) so I personally find it forgivable.  The only main detractor is that the outer wings unclip very easily.  They can be clipped back on with similar ease so it’s a mild irritation at best.

Worth Getting?

Studio Series rarely lets us down in terms of screen-accurate & highly detailed figures, and has not disappointed once again.  The figure boasts a lot of detail, though more detail in the Transformation would have been nice, you definitely don’t need the instructions for this gal.  The figure shares much of its engineering with Kingdom Airazor so anyone who has that figure will know largely what to expect.

If you are into Beast Wars characters, or are looking to pick up toy representations of characters from the upcoming movie, then Studio Series Airazor fits the bill nicely and I welcome her as the first Maximal to enter my Studio Series collection.

Toy Review: Kingdom Tracks

I’ve always thought Tracks was a very underrated character.  Despite getting a couple of spotlight episodes in season 2 of the Generation One cartoon, he’s never really done a lot otherwise.  Has never been a stand-out in any of the comics and, with the exception of a cameo in Animated, has never cropped up in any other Transformer universes.  Very odd considering how interesting he is; a vain, posh speaking narcissist yet still a warrior who took has taken on the likes of Megatron and Starscream.  Add to that he had a very sexy alt-mode that could also become a flying car!  His toy was my absolute favorite out of the 84/85 cars and I still love it to this day.

Tracks being underrated has been reflected in the amount of figures he has gotten over the years – maybe because it’s hard to get more uses out of a figure that has a flying-automobile mode.  We haven’t had a Generations version since Reveal the Shield many, many years ago so he was well overdue.

Well Tracks has finally gotten another figure, in the Kingdom toyline, so let’s look at Deluxe Tracks.

Robot Mode

‘Indeed I am still most slim and pristine’

Probably the most show accurate Tracks figure we have had outside of the Masterpiece version.  He looks good with his signature red face & white helmet, backpack guns and slim form.  He certainly looks an improvement over the RTS version, though comparing the two you can see how much Hasbro has shrunken the Deluxe Class over the last decade.  He has decent articulation and overall is a good representation of the character.

Vehicle Mode

Very nice looking, though getting everything to stay tabbed together can be very irritating.  I would have liked to see some yellow in his hood flame rather than simply red like the cartoon.  He lacks that certain sexiness that the G1 and Masterpiece toys have and the flashiness of the RTS toy.  His weapons can be mounted on the back or the sides of the vehicle.

Flying Car Mode

Here is where the toy stands out – looks really good!  The little tailfins that pop up are a nice addition, though it would have been good to have them and the guns slightly different shades of white so they don’t blend together so much.  Cerainly better than the awful RTS version and even the MP version to my mind, coming in 2nd only to the original G1 toy itself.

Transformation

What a friggin pain in the arse this is!  There have been QC issues reported with his legs and it is very evident here.  Whilst you can transform him without making the necessary fixes, its very annoying to do and takes all the fun out of the conversion process.

Worth Getting?

This is a good rendition of Tracks, but it is not a stand out.  As yet, for me at any rate, they have not made a Tracks toy that is able to pull off all 3 modes as well as the original.  Whilst some of his modes are better than others, the whole toy is pulled down by the fiddly and annoying transformation sequence.  Recommended only if you are not happy with your current Tracks figures.

Toy Review – EX-01 Nicee

I find it hard to resist buying an Arcee figure.  As a multiverse collector this is the case with a lot of G1-originated characters for me, but there are characters that I nearly always get and Arcee is one of them.

Why?  Not sure.  Maybe because she was such a well known character from the 1986 movie, as well as Seasons 3 & 4 of the G1 cartoon but never got a toy of her own.  I had to wait until I was in my 20’s before I got my first representation of her as a statue bust.  But since then I’ve gotten her in so many lines – Alternators, Energon, Prime, Animated, Thrilling 30, Q and most recently Cyberverse and Earthrise.  Heck, I even have her in Mouse Pad form!  However none of these figures ever really captured Arcee for me and how cool she is, especially her vehicle form.

Arcee is getting the Masterpiece treatment as we speak and that figure is due to be released soon.  But in the meantime I did something I almost never do.  Despite having about 3500 Transformer figures in my collection, you could count the amount of 3rdparty figures I own on one hand.  Given some of the complaints about the aesthetic of the new MP Arcee coming out, I decided to shell out and purchase a 3P figure of her where the aesthetic goes in the opposite direction.  So lets take a look at EX-01 Arcee NICEE from BIGFIREBIRDTOY.

The packaging wont win design awards for subtlety…
…but then neither will the toy inside

Robot Mode

“Hi everyone! I’m the toy your girlfriend probably hates”

Aesthetic

An incredibly stylized version of Arcee Nicee.  Considering the popularity of the differently styled aesthetic of Animated, I’ve never really understood why Transformers would not try for a Japanese influenced Anime theme.  This figure is extremely anime in its aesthetics, from the long slim limbs to the quasi-angelic wings and armour that almost appears to be a battle bikini.  It really is a fantastic looking figure.  Before we go further however, lets address the elephants in the room…

“What? These? My lovely lady lumps?”

Let’s get this out of the way.  Yes she has boobs.  Her armour is specifically shaped to enhance this.    There is no getting away from it and given the picture on the front of her box it seems that this is supposed to be a big selling point for Arcee Nicee.  Now I totally get this kind of thing not being everyone’s cup of tea.  Completely understandable.  But here’s the great thing….

…. If you don’t like it you don’t have to buy it.  Lucky you!

“Lets all just get along eh mate!”

Interchangeable Body Parts

Nicee comes with two heads, two chests and 8 hands (4 left and 4 right).  The reason for so many hands is each one is designed to hold a different weapon, be it blunt or ranged.  They look rather skeletal and kinda freaky to be honest.  The chests are completely identical except one is white and the other is shiny white.  The heads are slightly different to each other, in particular the face.  For those of you who don’t like Arcee Nicee having metal hair, you can remove it.  This is one of the instances where the figure lets me down – I wanted her to have a head more in keeping with her usual look, and while removing the hair allows this, it also leaves a big gap above her forehead which ruins the effect.  So if you are not a hair fan too bad – better a bob than a hole in the head I guess.

Poseability

The figure has really good tight joints and multiple points of articulation.  She is able to be put into all manner of poses and stances, balances fairly well and possesses good flexibility.

“4 million years old and not a touch of arthritis!”

Vehicle Form

How friggin sexy does this look!  As I’ve mentioned I don’t usually buy 3P figures but if they are all like this then I understand why people do.  Nicee puts every Arcee figure in my collection to shame.  The aesthetics are just wonderful; the sleek lines and subtle curves interspersed with straight lines really make this a beautiful alien car to behold.

The paint job is very high quality and the bright translucent blue used for the windscreen, headlights and taillights ad a nice counterbalance to all the pink and white.  There are all sorts of little details that add to the beauty of this figure, in particular I like the steering dash and moulded seats.

Weaponry

Nicee comes with multiple weapons including spear, sword, pistol and shield.  Also you are able to remove her backpack and combine it with the spear into a sort of energy bow.  Given her ability to be put into all manner of poses this sets you up for some great battle shots!

Transformation

The transformation is fairly straight forward and the instructions make it look more complicated than it actually is.  In fact it is sorta reminiscent of Thrilling 30 Arcee.  The shield becomes the top of the vehicle but this is no way means she is a simple partsformer.  My only two gripes would be that if you don’t position the high heels just right they can impede the front wheels rolling in vehicle mode, and that there are lots of little tabs that need to go together – often when you are tightening one another pops out of place.  However a good transformation on the whole.  You may find it convenient to take her hands off when putting her in vehicle form.

Worth Getting?

This on the whole is actually a pretty great figure, and given how expensive 3P items are the price tag is fairly acceptable.  But what is going to be the deciding factor for people here isn’t going to be the articulation or transformation or plastic quality – it’s going to be the aesthetic.  Some people are going to think this figure looks great, some are going to think it’s an abomination.  So if the idea of an anime styled transformer appeals to you then you are going to love Nicee.  If the idea of transformers being sexualized in any fashion is enough to send you on a month long twitter tirade then steer well clear.  Just remember no matter what side of the fence you fall on, don’t hate on the other side – just be…. Nicee

Toy Review – Earthrise Snapdragon

The original Headmaster Horrorcons were G1 toys that kinda had it all.  They were triple changers, they had beast modes, they had jet modes AND they were Headmasters where the Nebulan partner also triple-changed – becoming the head of the robot and of the beast.  Combine all this with the fact that they also showed up in the season 4 of G1 cartoon before it’s end and these were sought after figures!

Sadly, the beast modes weren’t brilliant, the colour-schemes were cringe-worthy, the accessories were easy to lose and if you lost the Headmaster itself the toy only worked as a jet.  This makes these figures very hard to find on the secondary market today, and both toys remain some of the few from the G1 cartoon I don’t own.

However for those wanting representations of these figures but can’t afford the huge amounts the originals go for – fear not!  They are back in the new toylines!   Last year saw the release of Apeface in the Siege line and this year we get his partner in the Earthrise line.  So without further ado, let’s have a look at War for Cybertron Snapdragon.

Robot Mode

“These boob-tattoo’s hurt!”

A good sized and robust figure for the Voyager class, very chunky and strong looking, though it would have been nice to see less kibble on the arms.  Despite this the figure has decent articulation.  A bit plain looking, but pays homage to the original toy – right down to Krunk becoming the head and the Decepticon-faction symbols on the nipples.

Cybertronian Fighter Jet Mode

Once again it is very faithful to the original figure and it’s certainly his strongest mode. A really nice representation of a Cybertronian Fighter Jet and had multiple ports to not only attach the robots guns but also other weapons such as those from Weaponizer characters.

One feature I really like is the big cockpit in the middle of the jet.  It splits down the middle to open sideways and allow Krunk to ride inside and even has a control panel!

Dragon Mode

“All the better to eat Daniel with m’dear!”

If his jet mode is his stronges mode, then the dragon mode of Snapdragon is definitely his weakest, even if a distinct improvement on the original.  Firstly Krunk doesn’t even become the head, he becomes the lower jaw and can be extremely frustrating to get into place.  For me it usually means leaving his mouth wide open.  Also he doesn’t really look much like a dragon – he looks more like a weirdly coloured faux T-Rex with the little forearms  and general proportions.    Add to this all the visible jet kibble and this is not a great beast mode at all.

Overall

If you are after a Generations representation of the Headmaster Horrorcons then Snapdragon is for you.  Also if looking for a figure for a younger fan this isn’t bad, what with the easy transformations, three modes and the Titan Master gimmick.  However to other collectors the very cool jet mode may not make up for the average robot mode and subpar dragon mode.  So yeah, this is definitely a ‘take or leave’ kinda Con.

Toy Review – Titan Changer Grimlock

The Authentics line is not the most beloved of Transformer toylines.  People don’t rant online about their local store being out of stock or discuss on message boards how excited they are about a new figure coming up.

What the Authentics line is known for is being relatively cheap, usually G1 inspired and relatively easy to find.  Most supermarkets will have a few Authentics toys in their tiny toy sections so if you live near a Coles or Woolworths chances are you can find one.

There have already been two Grimlocks in the Authentics line.  If one were to use classifications from the Generations line you would say a ‘Scout’ class and a ‘Deluxe’ class.  Both were OK looking, but of course not brilliant and made of extremely cheap materials.  Hasbro has decided to continue with this theme but upscale it, so let’s have a look at the new Titan Changer class of Authentics toy with an all new Grimlock figure.

Robot Mode

Tall!

Undoubtedly G1 inspired and with the simplicity of his look you could almost classify him as a representation of how he looked in the old G1 Marvel comics.  Interestingly he has some shoulder mounted multi-missile launchers which are far more indicative of Cyberverse Grimlock toys.  Perhaps this is to make up for the fact he has no other weapons and no accessories.

This figure has limited articulation, having some swivel at the hips and shoulders as well as being able to bend at the knees.  No elbows however and no neck swivel.

“Me Grimlock frolick!”

The toy is extremely lanky, his overly long legs putting him on a height scale with many Generations Leader-Class figures.  He is also extremely thin, and if you turn him around you will see there is almost literally nothing behind him.

“WHO STEAL GRIMLOCKS CALVES?!”

Space Tyrannosaurus Mode

It’s… actually not that bad

It’s…. OK.  The back of the dinosaur mode is very boxy, almost the opposite of the overly elongated POTP Grimlock figure.  The head is a lot flatter than your usual Grimlock toy.  He has a small lever on the back of his head which allows you to open and shut the dinosaur jaws and is his only real gimmick.  As the robots arms become the dinosaurs legs, the figure has no knee movement and his upper arms are locked in position.

Look, its not great OK.  But we’ve had some pretty average looking dinosaur mode toys for Grimlock over the years so it’s not like this one is significantly worse than a lot of the others.

The Space T-Rex sniffs the air, trying to locate the scent of its next meal

Overall

I think my kids put it best when they were fiddling with this figure this morning: ‘This is a kids toy isn’t it Dad, cause’ it’s so light’.  Firstly I love the fact they think most of my Transformers are intended for adults since its dad that gets them – bless their hearts!  But it was a good analysis from them – this toy being such a big figure made out of such cheap plastic means that it is best suited for younger fans who want their own Grimlock toy to play with.  Combine this with a simplistic transformation and relatively low price tag (mine cost $30[AU] from Aldi) and it means that while this is a Grimlock most collectors will happily skip, it may be a great gift for their offspring.

Toy Review – Siege Impactor

The Wreckers – the biggest bot badasses this side of the Dinobots.  The team the Autobots go to when they don’t give a shit about collateral damage, they just want some Cons dead!

‘The Wreckers: Class of 1986’ (Absent: Rack’n’Ruin)

The Wreckers have been around since the old Marvel comics and since have become ingrained within Transformers lore.  And before the mighty Springer became leader of the team, their leader was the hardened, the ruthless, the one and only – Impactor.

Impactor did not get an official toy for many years.  In fact it wasn’t until the Generations FOC toyline in 2013 he got his first one, a kinda weird redo of FOC Onslaught.  Then a few years later in 2016 Impactor got a Timelines toy that was infinitely cooler, yet as a redo of CW Rook still didn’t tick all the boxes that fans of the G1 Comics Impactor required.

Well here we are in 2019 and Impactor has finally gotten a figure designed specifically for him.  And damn it’s a beauty!  So let’s have a look at Siege Deluxe Class Impactor.

Robot Mode

‘Face the front perp, prepare for your mugshot’

Beautiful colours here, really does justice to him.  The timelines version was pretty good with an awesome head, but that huge grey peg in his chest was a definite drawback.  This Impactor looks buff, tough and has the right stuff!  His shoulder cannon looks particularly faithful and impressive.

‘Where is that green prick who stole my job?’

Articulation on this figure is very good, with multiple points all over his upper and lower body, allowing you to put him in a myriad of battle poses.  The right (or left if you prefer) hand folds in to attach his signature harpoon.  The tank barrel from his tank mode serves as a rifle.  Really, its hard to find fault here, everything from the head sculpt to the colour scheme are spot on.

‘Orange was never my colour’

Cybertronian Tank Mode

Finally, I have treads instead of wheels!

To be honest, he looks even cooler than he did in any comic.  Weaponry wise he sports a giant tank cannon at the front, his shoulder cannon becomes a roof mounted  laser cannon, there are twin scatter blasters on either side and his harpoon becomes a rotating laser gun on top.  Add to that four huge spikes at the front and he don’t need no stinkin Battle Masters to kick butt, he’s a one-tank arsenal!  There are however multiple ports to add Battle Master and Weaponizer guns should you wish.

Overkill? Na…

Once again the colour scheme is top notch, and as the leader of The Wreckers the battle damage suits him more than most .  This really is the Impactor you’ve been waiting for.

Transformation

Quite straight forward.  Not stupidly simple but no real challenge to be had.

Worth Getting?

Oh hells yes!  I’ve been pretty damn happy with my Timelines Impactor for the past three years, and while I was looking forward to an update I wasn’t yearning for it.  But now I have this guy my other two Impactors won’t be getting a look in any time soon.  Everything about this figure is really spot on and just screams Wreck’n’Rule!  Whether you want this guy or the upcoming one which is Decepticon aligned, either way go and grab one and continue to pray there is a Rack’n’Ruin toy in the works soon.

Classic Toy Reviews – Beast Hunters and Combiner Wars Sky Lynx

Ah the toys of yesteryear!  Enjoy these classic reviews of toys gone by!

Skylynx

Series – Transformers Prime
Sub-line – Beast Hunters – Predacons Rising
Size/class – Deluxe
New/remould/redeco – Redeco
Release – a US Target only exclusive
Approximate Retail Price – $22US
Approximate Size – 14cm
Allegiance – Predacon
Alt-mode – Cybertronian Beast
Main Features/Gimmicks – disc launchers in wings
Main Colours – White, Blue, Red
Main Accessories – 2 x battle discs

I’m not a fan of most ‘monster’ Transformers, but I grabbed Skylynx as it was the only figure at the time that paid homage to our favorite arrogant space shutte. Yes I know this Skylynx doesn’t have the space shuttle mode, but it was the beast mode I was after.

Robot mode

Butt-ugly! Also, the discs in his wings make him top heavy and I had really muck about with him to get him to stand properly.

Beast mode

Still pretty butt-ugly, but its for the beast mode I got him so its in this mode he will likely remain. A quadraped dragon-bird thing coloured in red, white & blue was what was on offer, and it’s what they delivered .

Overall

Is he worth getting? It’s an easy transformation which makes him good for kids and for the adults, well, personally I’m a sucker for a G1 homage (even if G1 Sky Lynx would be horrified that he is now a ‘grubby Predacon!’ ) so that’s why I got him. To be honest otherwise I think this toy would be easy to pass up, especially since he had such a limited release and the Combiner Wars version is now on offer.  Speaking of which…

Sky Lynx
Series – Generations
Sub-line – Combiner Wars
Size/class – Voyager
New/remould/redeco – New
Wave – Wave 2, 2016
Approximate Retail Price – $45
Approximate Size – 20cm
Allegiance – Autobot
Alt-mode – Space Shuttle with troop transport undercarriage
Main Features/Gimmicks – Can combine with others to form Sky Reign
Main Colours – White, Blue, Red
Main Accessories – 2 long blasters

Robot Mode

A nice looking Sky Lynx indeed. While the poseability isn’t great nearly every part of him can be re-positioned to some extent (wings, tail, legs, feet, neck, mouth) so you can give him different looks. Blasters can be attached to the wings or to elongate the tail.

Space Shuttle Mode

Besides the undercarriage sticking out from under the back of the Space Shuttle good and it’s very faithful to the original Sky Lynx concept in terms of proportions, colour scheme and shape. Very nice. Blasters can once again be attached to the wings.

Transformation
Very straight forward for a Voyager and one of the easiest of that size from the CW line to do.
Overall
This is a pretty good Sky Lynx. I think it could have benefited from being a Leader Class toy with the Lynx mode built in rather than it being a combiner but certainly the fact he combines with others toys (see HERE) and has the Lynx as the head gives it extra playability for younger fans and is an extra nod to fans of the original toy. So not as cool as the G1 toy (that was even motorized!) but way cooler than the Predacons Rising version. Overall recommended.

I’m not sure how either of them feel about this
